Professional Football Player. For twelve seasons (1956 to 1967), he played at the linebacker position in the National Football League with the Baltimore Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals. Born William John Koman, he made his initial impression on the football field during his years at Hopewell High School in Pennsylvania, before going on to play collegiately at the University of North Carolina. Selected by the Baltimore Colts during the 8th round of the 1956 NFL Draft, he totaled 156 career regular season games. He distinguished himself when he achieved Pro-Bowl honors twice (1962 and 1964). After retiring from football, he became a successful real estate developer.
