Son of Patrick and Ann (Lovliss) Elliott.

On 8 Aug 1862 Patrick, an operative, mustered into service with the __15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry__ as a wagoner, being credited to the quota of Oxford, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was 24 years old.
On 17 Sep 1862 Patrick was wounded at The Battle of Antietam, MD, and lost a leg.
On 9 Jan 1863 Patrick was promoted to Sergeant.
On 11 Apr 1863 at "The Webster Times", Webster,MA, Patrick Elliott was included in the published list of Oxford volunteers.
He applied for a veteran's pension on 10 Aug 1863, received certificate number 20155.
On 28 Sep 1863 Patrick ended military service with the 15th Massachusetts for reasons not given in the 1870 roster.

Patrick died on 4 Dec 1863 at Oxford, Worcester County, Massachusetts, unmarried, of phthisis pulmonius. He was 25 years old.
He was buried in Dec 1863 at Southbridge, MA, where a veteran's headstone was placed.

About 1890 Patrick Elliott was included on the Civil War memorial at Oxford, Worcester County, Massachusetts.

A military headstone was ordered for this man with delivery address simply as "Southbridge." It is possible that he is buried in the catholic cemetery.
