Jim loved spending days camping in the mountains of CO and NM with his family, he belonged to a bowling team and was able to bowl even shortly before his death. He was a member of the Cross of Christ church choir and the Young at Heart singing group, and many times sang solos in church and while visiting the care centers in Las Cruces.
Jim had been receiving at home hospice care but passed away at the La Posada Hospice facility.
Survivors include his two daughters, Amy and Sara, granddaughter, Serena; siblings, Edwin Zemler, Joan Remiger, Sister Rosemary Zemler, Rita (Dale) Bunkers, Richard (Irene) Zemler, Donald (Marsha) Zemler and Margaret Heath. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Barbara Bunkers, brothers Fred and Tom Zemler and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at Cross of Christ in Las Cruces, NM on July 22nd.
