James Bradberry was born January 24,1939 to the late James C. Bradberry and Ella Fair (Hubbard) Bradberry in Andalusia, Alabama.

James affectionately was known as "Sonny" by his friends and family in New York and "Brad" to everyone in the Midwest. Brad possessed a style that uniquely set him apart; he was man of valor, strength and integrity. He was a proud man; he believed in working hard and earning his own. He was suave and meticulous about his attire. He made sure he was pressed and polished for every occasion.

Brad was genuine and kind to everyone he met and he never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends unselfishly and unconditionally. People who knew him spoke highly of him, respected him and quickly learned that he was a man who seldom minced words.

Brad was baptized at an early age and recently rededicated his life in February 2018. He enjoyed fishing and looked forward to pulling his boat and taking fishing trips with the fellas. He loved manicuring his lawn, caring for his vegetable garden and adding the extra touch to keep his home and automobiles in excellent condition. Brad loved music of every genre from gospel to blues from jazz to country western. He loved to host gatherings for family and friends and especially enjoyed playing cards and spending time with the "The Chandler Street Gang."

Brad attended school in Niagara Falls and later enlisted in the United States Army in March of 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965. His title was ammo storage specialist. He was decorated with a Good Conduct Medal and awarded the Service of Excellence Certificate.

Brad was employed by Tonawanda GMC Plant in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1965. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 774, where he served as a benefit representative. He later relocated to the Central Foundry Division, GMC Plant in Tilton, Illinois in 1984. He was a member of the UAW Local 579 and finally relocated to the Janesville GMC Plant in Janesville, Wis., where he was a member of UAW Local 95. After serving over 38 years with General Motors he retired in 1999.

Brad had a strong work ethic and quickly became bored with retirement. He worked an additional 10 years in a full-time position with Freight Car Services in Danville.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Priscilla Derrickson-Bradberry of 28 years; four brothers, Roy (Josephine) Bradberry of Cleveland, Ohio, Jimmy (Juanita) Bradberry, Thomas (Brenda) Bradberry and Willie Paul Bradberry all of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Alexander, Madelene (Thomas) Washington and Janice Bradberry (sister-in-law) all of Niagara Falls, N.Y. He leaves four sons, Reginald Goldsmith of Bossier City, Louisiana, Ahmad Bradberry of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Thomas Bradberry of Buffalo, N.Y. and Darryl Bradberry of Texas; eight daughters, Renee Dobbs of Buffalo, N.Y., Yolonda (Phil) Myles, Tracey Ship, Tammy Bradberry and Terri Williams of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Angela (Derrick) Crawford of Racine, Wisconsin and Necole (Frederick) Jackson Dorsey of Birmingham, Alabama; stepdaughter, Gina McGuire of Danville, Illinois; godson, Broc James Moran; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; special aunts, Louise Bradberry, Pearlie Bradberry, Grace Granberry and Margie Galloway; uncle, T.J. Bradberry and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Willie Bradberry and Robert Bradberry; a daughter, Kathy Bradberry; stepson, Robert S. McGuire and brother-in-law, James Alexander Jr.
