Jenna Tatum Meyers Lemons passed away January 2, 2018 at the Nixa Rehabilitation after a lingering illness. Jenna and her twin sister, Janet Mitchell, were born October 22, 1927 at the family home in Jamesville, Missouri. Their proud parents were Wade and Blanche Tatum, who are deceased. She attended and graduated from Nixa High School. She was a long-time member of Nixa Church of Christ and attended until her health no longer allowed.
Jenna and Karl Meyers were married in October 9, 1948 and were together 21 years. Jenna then married CD Lemons, who preceded her in death. After CD's death, she cared for Karl throughout a long illness until he, too, passed away. She was also preceded in death by a baby brother who died soon after birth and her brother-in-law, Daryl Mitchell. But it was the death of her twin sister, Janet, in 2003 that hurt her the most, and she never fully recovered.
Jenna worked for Wilson Cheese Company in Nixa until the company closed, at which time, she began working at Wilshire Cheese Company in Springfield. She worked there until it closed, as well. Then Jenna worked at Kraft Foods, St. John's Hospital, and ended her many years of work at Cleanco in Nixa. Jenna loved to work, and when she could no longer she found herself at loose ends. So she wallpapered all the walls in her house and painted the outside - more than once. She mowed the yard every time it grew an inch until her brother-in-law told her she was killing the grass. She ironed Karl's socks and anything else she could get her hands on. She also pieced quilt tops and declared they were the ugliest quilts she ever saw. But we didn't care; we were proud of them.
Jenna had no children of her own but delighted in her four nieces who survive: Myra Massey (Randy), Regina Graves, Muerita Scrivner (Alan), and Carmen Robinson. She had nine great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews.
