Robert Chapman, Sr. died Saturday, October 21st, 2017 of cancer. He was 92 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years – Jeannine. Also survived by daughter-in-law Bette Chapman Anderson, brother Gerald of Atlanta, and sister Lena Bean of Macon, Georgia, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by daughter Anne Elizabeth and son Robert, Jr., brothers Harold, Carl, Derry, and sister Martha Holt, all of Macon, Georgia, plus parents James and Myrtle of Macon, Georgia.

He was a member of ANS, ASME, Professional Engineer, Chapter 42 of NAWCC, Church Street United Methodist Church, and Murphy Builders Sunday School Class since 1957.

Robert retired from ORNL in 1989 after 39 years of service. He was an Army veteran of WWII in the South Pacific.

Funeral service will be held at 7 pm Thursday, October 26 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Receiving of friends to precede from 5 - 7 pm. Interment Friday, October 27 at 11 am at Edgewood Cemetery on Gallaher View Road with military honors.
