She died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.
She was born Jan. 26, 1912, in Floyd Co. She was raised in Kress, where she attended schools. She married Bill Anderson in 1930. He died in 1967. She married Ray Lightcap on May 15, 1971, in Tulia. They ranched in Tulia. They moved to Saquache, Colo., in 1980 where they also ranched. He died on Jan. 24, 1995, in Colorado. She returned to Tulia in 1995, and then to Amarillo in 1996. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Tulia.
Survivors include two foster sons, Paul Anderson of Virginia Beach, Va., and James Anderson of California; two step-daughters, Betty Jo Spurgeon of Liberal, Kan., and Dorothy Spurgeon of Las Animas, Colo.; two step-sons, Clifford Lightcap of Garden City, Kan., and Richard Lightcap of Las Animas, Colo.; three brothers, Floyd Young of Lubbock, Dr. Eddie E. Young of Lubbock and Ted Young of Fort Worth; two sisters, Delia Love of Lubbock and Glenna Jacobsen of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
