Glenna Young Jacobsen, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Glenna was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Lamb County to Erwin and Hattie Young. She moved to Claude as a child, where she graduated from Claude High School.
She married Berry Jacobsen in 1964, in Amarillo, he preceded her in death in 1971.
Glenna was an elegant, beautiful woman who was always kind. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and have a good time. She was an avid bridge and dominoes player and loved to have regular games with her friends. Glenna had a caregiver's heart, always considering the needs of others. She was a resident of The Continental for many years. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ and Comanche Trails Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berry Jacobsen; daughter, Jorene Meador; parents; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a son, Lee Jacobsen and wife Maria of Amarillo; a daughter, Jan Jacobsen Cox and husband Larry of Amarillo; a son-in-law, M.C. Meador of Carrolton; a brother, Floyd Young and wife Marie of Richardson; nine grandchildren, Doug Meador, Holly Burkhalter, Mechele Miller, Amy Johnson, Susan Sebastian, Robert Fitzsimmons, Stacy Trujillo, Angela Archer and Kevin Cox; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
