Ruthie Mae Conway, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2015 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. She was born February 20, 1925 in Alto, Texas to Curby and Ida (Pate) McBroom and has had 9 siblings. In her teenage years, she married Morris Conway and together they had two sons, Kenneth and Richard. After the death of Morris, she met her husband, Raymond Fleming, who has loved, cared for, and stayed by her side faithfully until her passing. Ruth cherished those around her and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a love for dancing and was always so full of life.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Fleming; son: Richard Conway; four grandchildren, DeeAnn Conway, Shelley Hilliard and her husband Jeff, Traye Conway and his wife Jeanette, and Darren Conway; many great grandchildren; five siblings: Ruben McBroom, C.J. McBroom, Josephine Watkins, Savanna Witt, and Thomas McBroom. Ruth was preceded in her death by her parents; brother: Olan, sisters: Myrle, Mary Sue, and Betty; her son, Kenneth; and her sons' father, Morris.
Family, friends and others whose lives Ruth touched are invited to Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, for the visitation on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held the following day, on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m., to remember such a special lady.
