OBITUARY: The Daily Sentinel, Nacogdoches TX, 28 May 1995
Funeral for Ida Pate McBroom, 90, of Nacogdoches, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home with interment following in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Lewis, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Lufkin, will officiate. Ms. McBroom died Saturday, May 27, 1995, in Westward Trails Manor. Born Oct. 7, 1904 in Martinsville, she was the daughter of Samuel Ashley and Lillie West Pate. Ms. McBroom was retired from the Mize Sewing Factory and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Her husband, Curby J. McBroom, preceded her in death in 1985. Survivors include: sons, Olan McBroom of Refugio, Ruben McBroom of Kirbyville, C.J. McBroom of Longview and Thomas H. McBroom of Lufkin, daughters, Ruth Conway of Longview, Van Witt of Nacogdoches, Mary Sue Gage of Houston and Josephine Watkins of Montgomery; brother, Virgil Pate of Martinsville; sister, Ozeda Lynch of Martinsville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors will direct arrangements.
