LAYTON - William Raymond Gibson, 63, of 1886 Cliff's Place, Layton, died Friday of cardiac arrest and complications following surgery.

He was born in Ogden, February 16, 1912, the son of John William and Frances Hannah Clarke Gibson.

He was married October 8, 1930 to Marrellda Taylor in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He had lived in Taylor all his life. In 1969 he moved to Layton where he resided until his death. He attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1930. He had been active in the LDS Church all his life and had served in the Taylor Ward bishopric. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Layton 10th Ward. He had been a farmer, a deputy for Weber County Sheriff Department, and retired as a security guard from Hill Air Force Base.

Survivors include his widow, four sons and one daughter, Gary Ray Gibson, Ross Taylor Gibson, Joe Gibson, and Mrs. Howard (Arlene) Brimhall, all of Ogden; and Nolan John Gibson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are his parents, Ogden; one brother and three sisters, Fred Gibson and Mrs. Duard (Opal) Hammer, both of Ogden; Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Turner, Morgan; and Mrs. Max (Mary) Wadsworth, Fresno, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday with Bishop Glen Budge of the Layton 10th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Interment will be in the West Weber Cemetery.
