WINTERS -- Jessie (Nana) Danford, age 93, of Winters, Texas died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in the Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Winters.
She was born on September 29, 1913 in Erath County and was raised in Content. She married P. H. (Scotty) Danford on October 12, 1930 and had 50 years with him before he preceded her in death in 1980. Jessie, known to family and friends as "Nana", lived most of her life in Winters where she raised her 3 children. She attended the Primitive Baptist Church in Abilene.
She is survived by: one daughter and two sons, Jean Brown of Winters, Gerald Danford and wife, Barbara, of Winters and Jackie Danford and wife, Reba, of Winters; one sister, Opal Herring of Deer Park; one brother, Alvis Waldrop of Winters; six grandchildren, Vicki Guy, Jeanne Shaw, Denna Kuhrt, Tracy LaBeDelle, Scott Danford and Belinda Hilliard; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007 in the Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Travis Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery under the care and direction of the Winters Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, January 31, 2007.
