Adeline passed away June 22, 2016, at Marian Manor Health Center surrounded by her family.
Adeline was born on Oct. 4, 1934, to Edmund and Anna (Martin) Weiand. She graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1952. After graduation, she started working for Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator. She married Ray Diede at Sacred Heart Church on Dec. 30, 1955.
Adeline was a dedicated wife and homemaker, always having a hot meal prepared for her family every evening. She was also known for making the best peach pies. Adeline loved to play cards, especially pinochle and bridge. She was a member of the original Contract Bridge Club, which began in the 1950s in Glen Ullin. Adeline enjoyed traveling, and her trip to Rome was especially meaningful to her. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray, Glen Ullin; her daughters, Patty (Terry) Duppong, Glen Ullin, and Sue (Randy) Roemmich, Dickinson; her son, Will (Tracy), Mandan; six grandchildren, Ty and Casey Duppong, Chris (Brittney) Roemmich, Allison Roemmich, and Dylan and Paige Diede; her brothers, Allan (MaryAnn), Wahpeton, and Gary (Joan), Glen Ullin; and her sister, Cora, Fort Thompson, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Donaghue, and her parents.
