David "D.I." Edwards was born December 6, 1928 in Dallas, Texas, to Cleve and Valla Mae Edwards, and passed away November 14, 2016.

D.I. retired early after working for Southwestern Bell (later AT&T) for 35 years, after which, he and his wife, Jeannine, moved to Combine, TX.

D.I. was a member of Point View Baptist Church, after having been a member of Bethany Baptist Church for 30 years. He served as a deacon, and loved to volunteer his time at the church helping out any way he could.

He was also in the Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years. D.I. will be remembered as a godly and Christian man who loved everyone, befriending them with his large personality.

He was very creative, often making up funny poems, singing, playing his harmonica, or crafting woodwork, such as various decorative items, stools, or containers.

D.I. is survived by:
Loving wife of 65 years, Jeannine Bates Edwards
Daughters: Jan Reynolds and husband Don
Jean Hester and husband Mavin
Julie Griffin and husband Gary
Grandchildren: Shelly Jean Hemler and husband Joe
David Hester and wife Tara
Caleb David Stevenson
Great-grandchildren: Grace Hester, Ashton Hester,
Hudson Hemler, and Emma Jean Hemler
Many extended family members and friends.
