Abigail Jane (Abbie) Argue was the fourth of seven children born to Wilson and Sophia (nee Armstrong) Argue. Her parents both died of consumption when Abbie was a young girl. The seven Argue siblings were taken in and raised by various aunts and uncles in the vicinity of Stittsville Ontario. Abbie, her sister Miriam and brother James Robert went to live with Robert and Barbara Armstrong in Russell Twp. Several of the Argue siblings eventually headed west to live in the prairie provinces. Abbie's brothers (Thomas Herbert and John Alvy) accompanied some Argue cousins to the Clearwater/Crystal City area of Manitoba in the 1890s. Abbie joined her brothers in Manitoba sometime after 1901. Her brother Thomas Herbert purchased the grave plot where Abbie is buried.

James Alvy Argue’s (1867-1935) memorial page has additional information about the seven Argue brothers and sisters.
