Crystal City and district developed as quickly as did Pilot Mound. Among the early settlers in this locality, we find many who came on the first emigrant train arranged for by Mr. Greenway. Among them were Henry Cudmore, John and Mrs Ring, James Parr, James Baker, Robert and Tom Baker, Thomas Sando, wife and family, Ed and Arthur Rollins, Silas Rand, and Thomas Smallacombe.
Others who came in the early days were Thomas and William Greenway, John Greenway, who was the first preacher in the settlement, Mr Parr Sr, Joe Rollins, Aaron and Mrs Cudmore and five children, James Collins, James Sullivan, who was the first blacksmith in the district, Henry Taylor and his sons, Ed, James,
George and Hill, James Reid, part of whose land was in the first townsite, Robert Rollins, who started the first store in the town, Joseph Rogers, Peter McLaren, Archie Taylor and his sons, John, William and Alex, James McNamee and others.

A part of the town's story, and those of its inhabitants, from the early days of European settlement through roughly 1998 is told in the volume "Prairie Pride Land - Looking Back", especially on pp 223ff, where there is a list of burials known to the authors at the time, in the book "Memories of Pioneer Days at Pilot Mound", in a related pamphlet entitled "Pilot Mound Illustrated", and in the volume "Pilot Mound 50, District 75, Reunion, July 1954".
Free digital versions of these and many other Manitoba local history books can be found online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
A list of burials in this cemetery is available from the Manitoba Genealogical Society (reference #1204), transcribed by a member or members in 1997.
