A.J. Watson, 72, 812 N.E. 5th, Amarillo, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in his home in Amarillo.

A cement finisher, he was a native of Lakeview, and a lifelong resident of Borger.

He was a corporal of U.S. Army WWII and a member of the VFW and the First Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Watson, July 13, 1988.

He is survived by one son, Kelly Watson of Borger; two daughters, Sharon St. Pierre of Amarillo; one stepdaughter, Ann Riggle of Borger; four stepsons, Don Noble of Durant, Okla., Jerry Noble of Idalou, Nelson Noble of Lefors, Michael Noble of Anderson; two brothers, Earl Watson of Amarillo, Leon Watson of California; three sisters, Daisy Jones of Amarillo, Lela Payne of Lakeview, and Lila Fortenberry of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Minton Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Calvin Newton, pastor, First Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Pampa under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Casketbearers will be Shane Riggle, B.J. Riggle, Stewart McQuidy.
