Mrs. Paden taught in the Nebraska schools of Paxton, North Bend and McCook.
She was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #119 of North Bend; PEO Chapter AJ of Fremont; LCW Charity Circle of Sinai Church, and an active volunteer worker for the Dodge County Low-Income Ministry Emergency Food Pantry.
The former Eva Zessin married Bill D. Paden on June 6, 1946 in Fremont.
Eva R. Paden, 60, of 2905 Snead Drive, Fremont, Nebraska, died of cancer on Tuesday at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County, Nebraska.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; son, Dr. Stephen Paden of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Sheri Paden of Lincoln, NE; two brothers: Robert Zessin of Madison, NE and Edward Zessin of Denver, CO; two sisters, Claretta Zessin and Emmelene Zessin, both of Madison, NE; two grandchildren.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Friday at Sinai Lutheran Church. The Rev. Conrad J. Schmitz will officiate.
Visitation is in progress at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. The family requests that memorials in her name be given to the American Cancer Society, Sinai Lutheran Church or to Midland Lutheran College.
