Born Oct. 20, 1919, in Toltec, Ark., she was raised in Silver City, attending Teachers High School before moving to California in 1941. She returned to Silver City in 1970 and at the time of her death was employed as a music teacher in Sixth Street Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband, Albert E. Botts; two sons, Alton L. Botts of Valley Center, Calif., and Gerald L. Botts of Silver City; one daughter, Carolyn S. Davis of Silver City; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sixth Street Elementary School in a special fund in her name for the school children. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Curtis-Bright chapel. Arrangements are by the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home.
