Evelyn Christine Foreman-Haner was born on New Years Day in 1932, the daughter of Joe and Gertie (Russell) Foreman. Evelyn had eight siblings, Mack, Doodle, Claudette, Adila, Bonita, Daphene, Wanda and Judy. Evelyn attended school at Ticky Ridge.

She married the love of her life, Robert Haner, on Valentine's Day in 1953, in Arkansas. This union was blessed with one daughter and two sons, Kelly, Robert, and Andy.

Evelyn was born to care for those around her. This job she performed all of her lifetime, making a difference in the lives of everyone she met.

She was talented with needle work, crocheting, sewing, and making beautiful quilts. Her first job was the cook at the Mullendore Ranch in Hulah, OK. Evelyn made the best pies, chicken and dumplings, and by age ten, did complete meals by herself in the kitchen, and you could bet it would be delicious.

Her family was first and foremost in her thoughts at all times, and her family included her church family at Eben Ezer Lutheran, the people at Senior Citizens, and any of the kids in the area that needed her help. She made 100 lap blankets by hand, and sent them to St. Jude Children's Hospital, sending her love along in every stitch. When the FFA needed to raise some money, Evelyn would go to the kitchen and make her famous pies and cakes, supporting the children she loved. Her neighbors in the Redbud housing neighborhood were always on her mind at holiday time, and they would receive goodies from Evelyn's kitchen. Her door was always open, and she would always share what she had with those who needed it.

She loved any time she had to spend with her grandchildren, Jayme and Casey, and her great granddaughter, Abigail.

She had a large heart and was a Christian by faith, attending Eben Ezer Lutheran in Oaks. The Lord called this wonderful, loving, and protective wife, mother, grandmother, and sister home from her labors on March 1st, 2016 in Tahlequah, OK with her family by her side. She was 84 years old. She leaves a void that can never be filled.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert Arthur Haner in 2005 and Andy Shawn Haner, while still a baby, two brothers, Mack and Doodle, and three sisters, Claudette Foreman, Adila Foreman and Daphene Sroufe.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years, Robert Haner of Oaks, OK, her daughter, Kelly Carnes of Oaks, OK, and three sisters, Judy McMurtrey of Bartlesville, OK, Wanda Rogers of Oaks, OK, and Bonita Smith of Oaks, OK. Evelyn lives on in her two grandchildren, Jayme Carnes and Casey Carnes, and her adored great granddaughter, Abigail Carnes all of Oaks, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones all over northeastern OK.
