Eugene was born March 12, 1933 in Nacogdoches, Texas to his late parents, Clarence Cecil Lee and Lillian Marie Lee. Eugene married his high school sweetheart Tommie Ruth Collins on July 4, 1952. Shortly after marrying Tommie, he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served active duty in the Korean War. When completing his time in the military, Eugene and Tommie moved from Seattle Washington back to Houston, Texas in 1955 where he took a job in the petrochemical industry. Eugene achieved a top three position of management before retiring from Rhone Poulanc after 42 years of service. Eugene was a member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas where he and his wife pledged their membership in 1985. Eugene was a deacon, treasurer and an active Sunday school teacher for over 30 years.
In his personal time, Eugene enjoyed playing golf, spending time with family and friends, visiting hospitals, participating in mission trips, traveling, community club, reading his bible and watching sports.
Eugene is survived by his beloved wife Tommie of 63 years; son Douglas Brian Lee and wife Carolyn; grandchildren Megan Cherise Lee, Mandy Nichole Lee, Malorie Michelle Lee, and Chad Allen Lee.
The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Pasadena at 10:00am Friday, September 11, 2015, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Forest Park East Cemetery.
