Lula Mae Grice, age 88, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Dumas, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Under the care of Horizon Funeral Home
Lula Mae Danner was born February 21, 1927 to Arthur and Goldie (Gooch) Danner in Texhoma, Oklahoma. She grew up in Groover [sic] and Guymon. She married Charles Grice on February 5, 1947 in Liberal, KS. They moved to their place on High Lonesome in 1949. Lula was a full partner at their ranch where she carried her own weight, fFrom working with cattle, to driving a tractor, she could do it all. She was an active member of the Texline PTA. She also enjoyed being a part of the Coldwater Community Quilters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas and Clayton, New Mexico. She enjoyed life and enjoyed crocheting. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include daughters Linda Srader and husband Ron of Dalhart, TX, Charleen Burge and husband James of Amarillo, TX, Kay and husband Ron Howell of Dalhart, TX and a son Brad Grice of Dalhart, TX – 6 grandchildren, Christi Srader, Jodi O’Dell, Kenda McKay, James Burge, Charlsey Forbess, and Callie Grice; 6 great-grandchildren, Justin Ferguson, Bradey Burge, Brianna Srader, Emma Forbess, Abbigayle Forbess, and Brayden McKay: and 1 great-great grandchild, Collyn Ferguson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, four sisters, one son, Douglas Charles, a grandson-Bryan and a great-granddaughter-Kathleen.
Memorials may be made to the Coldwater Community fund in care of the First State Bank.
