Sophia Woolworth, daughter of William Woolworth and Nancy French was born July 21, 1817 in Ware, Hampshire Co., Mass. She married John E. Howard and they moved to Fairport, Monroe Co., New York in 1845. They had four children: John Richard Howard, Sophia Elizabeth Howard, William Woolworth Howard, and Ernest Howard. Sophia died Feb. 19, 1857 just 7 days after the birth of her son Ernest. She was buried in the Greenvale Cemetery in Fairport, Monroe Co., New York
