Calvin (Bugger) Daniel, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October l4, 2015 at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Stephens, Rev. James Baker and Mickey Early officiating. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M..
Calvin was born on March 27, 1934 in Roby, Texas to Hubert Preston and Elsie Ardenia (Long) Daniel. He married Ida Shipp on December 24, 1953 in Rotan, Texas. He worked for Domtar Gypsum Plant for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church since 1960, and also served as a trustee. He was an avid hunter, bowler and loved trucks and tractors, but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas; daughter, Jennie Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas, two sons, Marlin Daniel and wife Pam of Sweetwater, Texas and David Daniel of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Britnee Daniel Nigro, Eric Holley, Amy Holley, Andrew Holley, Callie Davis and Kiersten Davis; two brothers, Sherman Daniel and Vernon Daniel; two sisters, Linda Simmons and Gaylon Freeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Calvin Daniel; his parents; brothers, Carnie Daniel, Toad Daniel, Donnie Daniel, and Larry Glenn Daniel; and sisters, Yvonne Hicks, Daphene Trayhan, Verline Daniel and Juanita Neves.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2630 West Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
