Donald Wayne Burgess was born April 30, 1942 in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Henry Latham and Venice (Manasco) Burgess. Don passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 73.

He had lived in this area for the past 42 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Jane Hargrove on April 26, 1968. Don obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Oklahoma University. He was an excellent Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years, partner at Burgess & Burgess Accounting Firm in Hugo, OK. Don loved baseball, even playing for the OU Sooners and US Army teams. He thoroughly enjoyed Sooner football every season, catching the games on television with family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Leon Burgess; sister, Alta Fullingim.

Don is survived by wife; three children; two brothers; a sister-in-law; eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK with Bro. Brent Franks officiating and burial following in the Hall Cemetery.
