Mary Jo Amos, 92 of Denton passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her home. She was born February 5, 1923 in Decatur, TX to Walter Ben and Lavenia Bell (Worley) Watkins. She was married to George Denver Amos on December 25, 1941 in Wichita Falls and he died Jan. 1, 1993. She was a graduate of Decatur High School, Decatur Baptist Junior College and Howard Payne College. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a member of the Dorcas Class.
Mrs. Amos is survived by daughters, Karen Amos Heenan and husband Patrick of Winthrop, WA, Virginia Ruth Sanderson and husband Robert of Mesquite, sons, Paul Denver Amos and wife Della of Vancouver, WA, David Carroll Amos and wife Susan of Denton, Steven Wayne Amos of Denton, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
