Mrs. Rowena Bentley McCoy age 82 of 317 N. Chase St. died Wednesday, September 20, 2000. She was a native of Elbert County, daughter of the late Rev. C.J. Bentley and the late Ophelia Edmonds Bentley. She was a retired Educator with the Clarke County School District.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, West. Rev. Dr. Winfred M. Hope will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery.
She was the widow of the late Mr. James E. McCoy. Survivors include; 1 daughter Jean B. Jones (Thomas), Athens, Clarke, Georgia; 1 son, James W. Burgess; a devoted cousin, Annie M. Burton (James), Athens, Clarke, Georgia; 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of cousins.
