Obituary:

LeRoy A. BOWEN West Seattle native LeRoy A. Bowen passed away on Thursday morning, February 23, 2012 at his home, surrounded by family. An avid tennis player, until very recently on any sunny day you could find him at the Lincoln Park tennis courts or swimming in Puget Sound.

Born August 5, 1930, the youngest of four children, he was a commercial real estate broker who met his wife when he was 50 and went on to have a beautiful family with four children and five grandchildren. He will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty and stubborn tenacity.

In addition to his children and grandchildren,he is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Virginia, his sister Genevieve, four nieces, and two nephews, and was preceded by his brothers Richard and Gerald.

The family will host a celebration of his life at his West Seattle home this Sunday, February 26, at Noon, 7311 View Lane SW.

Donations in LeRoy's memory can be made to the City of Seattle Amy Yee Tennis Center, Gordy Yee Foundation, which provides youth tennis scholarships.
