He declared that he was born in Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk, England; that his next of kin was his father, Frederick Alderton, who resided at Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk, England; that he was born April 30th, 1895; that he was a farm labourer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 9-1/2 inches in height; fair complexion; steel grey eyes; fair hair. He was a member of the Church of England.
