George was the son of Elijah Stubblefield & Julia Wells. He and his brother, James
Stubblefield, were enumerated with the Wells surname in the 1880 census. George was widowed and lived in boarding houses in Winchester. He worked, as a day laborer, at an auto repair garage.
Mr. Stubblefield passed away, at Clark County Hospital, from the effects of pneumonia, complicated by a variety of other health issues.
Note: The DC noted his WWI military service. It is reprehensible that the Clark County officials did not make an effort to have Mr. Stubblefield's remains interred at either Camp Nelson National Cemetery or at Lexington National Cemetery.
