Bill Tune, 88, of Big Spring, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ivins, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday in Garrett Hall at First United Methodist Church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Bill was born June 15, 1926 in O'Donnell, Texas and married Mary Jo Box, September 13, 1947 in Stanton, Texas.

Bill served in the South Pacific in United States Navy during World War II. He served as Howard County Commissioner for 4 years and then as Howard County Judge from 1972 to 1980. Later he served as the bailiff for the 118th District Court.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Tune; daughter, Linda Conway; and son, Tommy Tune and wife, Donna, all of Big Spring.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Larry Bob Conway; two grandsons, Ehren Tune and Larry Don Harp; his parents, Thomas and Beulah (Damron) Tune; three brothers and two sisters..

The family suggest memorials be made to the ETLD Memorial Scholarship at Howard College, 1001 Birdwell Lane, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1229, Big Spring, Texas 79721-1229.
