James Mitchell Askew married Adaline Lou Davis on 8 January 1878 at Young County, Texas. Eight children were born to this union and all are living except one daughter, Ora, who died several years ago.

Death claimed Mrs. J.M. Askew, resident of young County for more than 50 years.

Services were held at the home in South Graham officiated by Brother J.F. Pursley, minister of the Church of Christ and she was laid to rest in Gooseneck cemetery where many friends and neighbors had gathered to pay their last respects.

Adaline Lou "Addie" Davis lived at Saint Joseph, Missouri until the age of 12 years, when her family moved to Benton County, Arkansas. Her father and mother died leaving 11 children, all of whom, with the exception of one sister, moved to Texas in 1876 and settled in Upper Tonk Valley in Young County.

Survived by her husband; children - Mrs. Will Pickard, Albert Askew, Emmett Askew, Robert Askew, Mrs. Sam Williams, Mrs. Malcolm Kramer, Bill Askew; nine grandchildren; one sister - Mrs. W.L. Cornett; one brother - J.P Davis.

Mrs. Adaline Askew accepted the Gospel early in life and lived a faithful Christian, a devoted wife and mother.

Bunger friends extend sympathy to J.M. Askew and his sons and daughters in their bereavement over the death of Mrs. J.M. Askew of Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Askew lived in the Bunger community for many years and are esteemed by all who know them. They moved to Graham, Texas in 1925 on account of Mrs. Askew's health. Two sons, R.L. and J.A. Askew lives in the Bunger Community, while Mrs. W.A. Pickard lives south of Bunger and Mrs. Sam Williams, another daughter, lives at Herron City.
