Funeral Services for Technical Sergeant Victor D. Mette of 9 Reynolds Avenue, Navy Yard section, will be held at 4 o’clock at Stuhr’s Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sumner Guerry will officiate and burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Sergeant Mette, 32 years old, was killed in a plane crash at Kimball. S. D. Full details of the accident have not been received here. He was an aerial gunner in the Army Air Forces and was the son of Mrs. Cecil G. Royal and the late John Allen Mette. He was born, April 9. 1911.
Surviving are his mother; his widow, the former Miss Vera Creveling; 1 daughter,
Diane A. Mette; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Yantis, Mrs. Geneva Strezlec, Mrs. Hilda Owens, Miss Freda Mette, all of Charleston; two brothers, J. W. Mette of Yemassee and Norman Mette of Charleston.
