Amy A. Muth, 79, of Grand Island, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Community Care of America in Grand Island. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. (Further funeral arrangements omitted here)
Mrs. Muth was born Sept. 5, 1917, in St. Paul to Warren and Nettie (Buchfinck) Alexander. She moved to Grand Island while in fifth grade. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1935. She worked for Carson's Cafe, and then for the Straton Hotel, and later Sears Roebuck Co. She married Austin A. Muth on Nov. 4, 1953, in Grand Island. She moved with her husband throughout the country while he served in the military. They returned to Grand Island when they retired. Mrs. Muth was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and Catholic Daughters of America-Court Queen of Peace. She was active within her church. She also enjoyed bowling and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Lawrence and Clayton Alexander; and four sisters, Gladys Kettinger, Claudia Geist, Mae Peterson and Opal McConaugay.
