Barclay Raymond L. Barclay, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church with Rev. D.G. McCoury officiating.
Linda Thomas was the organist while Donna Vaughan and Connie Johnson were the vocalists.
Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery where military honors were accorded at graveside by the Louis Jordan Post 244 American Legion.
Barclay was born July 3, 1922, at Port Arthur, the son of Clyde Barclay and Mollie Pitman Barclay. He married Inez Hollaway on Feb. 20, 1943, in San Diego, CA, and she survives.
Prior to retirement, Barclay was a supervisor with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He served in the U.S. Navy from Oct. 10, 1942, until Nov. 12, 1945, as an aviation torpedomans mate second class.
In addition to his wife, Barclay is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Marie and Gary Harris of Helotes; two grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde (Doyle) and Vernadine Barclay of Groves.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Vickie Barclay; two brothers, Ralph Barclay and James Barclay, and a sister, Ruth, Mrs. Paul Gordon.
