Lillie Martinez was born December 13, 1923 and went to the Lord on July 19, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Pete Martinez; her parents, Luis and Maria Perez; 2 brothers, Raul and Luis Perez; one daughter, Grace Hernandez; one granddaughter, Diana Esquivel and one grandson, Robby Gonzales.
She is survived by her children, Penny Gonzales (Robert), Sonny Esquivel (Nelda), Richard Martinez (Mary Lou), Patsy Sturgeon (Guillermo), Belinda Ritz (Gilbert); 27 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
Lillie was a life long resident of Aransas Pass and a very active member in the community. She was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea, where she sang in the choir for 37 years, taught cathechism for 40 years and was President of the Altar Society. Lillie belonged to the Aransas Pass Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, G.I. Forum. V.F. W. and the Lions Club. She was named Senior Citizen of the Year for her contribution to Senior Citizens. She will be missed by many.
Interment will follow mass at Prairie View Cemetery.
