From the minutes of Illinois Baptist, 1867-1876:
Rev. Ebington Daily was born and lived near McLeansboro. He died of typhoid fever October 5, 1874, aged 26 years.
At a meeting he professed hope in Christ and was baptized August 19, 1862 by Rev. E.W. Overstreet and united with Blooming Grove Baptist Church of which he remained a worthy member and was its pastor when he died. He was licensed to preach March 21 and ordained October 15, 1873. In less than one short year he was called to his reward. He was considered a young man of more that usual promise. In his death, the church and community feel that they, as well as his immediate relatives, have sustained a great loss.
