Arminda Delaware Buys, 75, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 6, 2914, at Boone Hosital Center.
She was born July 29, 1938 in Leroy, Alabama, the daughter of Robert Lee Batley and Nora Magdalene Goldman Batley who proceded her in death. She was united in marriage on June 12, 1960 to Harry Lee Buys, who preceded her in death.
Arminda graduated from Deering High School as a member of the class of 1956.
She was a member of the Third Street Baptist Church of Kennett. She enjoyed sewing, baking and was an avid reader. She was employed for many years at Emerson Electric in Kennett. She spent most of her time caring for others: parents, husband, children, and grandchildren. She was also spontanious and embraced anything that she was doing with great joy.
Arminda is survived by two children: Brenda Kay Johnson, of Holts Summit, Mo., Linda Sue (Paul) Franjesh, of Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; her siblings; Robert Lee (Troyetta) Batley, of Farmington, NM; Nora Lee Carr, of Kennett, Pearlie Arabelle (Jim) Howell Goforth, of Hazelgreen, Ala., William Edward (Lorene) Batley of Delpi, Ind., Billie Ray Batley, of Jackson, Mo., Jimmy arrol (Lynn) Batley of Norman, Okla., and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandchild, Cain Allen Johnson, and her siblings, Luvenia Flower, Charlie Doughlas Batley, Lottie Marie Wynn, Clarence Columbus Batley, and Wesley Leroy Batley.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at the Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.
Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Bob Medlock officiating.
Arminda's ashes will be buried at Mitchell's #8 Cemetery in Cooter, Mo.
There will be no graveside service.
