Andrew Nicholas Widlacki left the Kingdom of Poland, province of Kielc, county of Pinczowski, township of Opatoviec on September 20, 1895 for Krakow (which at that time was in Austria).

Krakow is now part of Poland. He stayed in a Franciscan monastery in Krakow until May 1904. The war situation forced him to leave.

He arrived in New York on the ship Barbarosa in June 1904 and traveled to Pittsburgh, PA in that same month. In February 1906, He arrived in Chicago.

He had made a friend of Bill Wengelewski during his initial journey from Poland. Bill suggested he write to Bill's sister, Waleria Wengelewska with the intent of marriage.

Waleria was from the province of Kowensk, township of Trawle.

Andrew and Valeria were married January 13, 1907 in the church of St. Casimir at the corner of 22nd and Whipple streets in Chicago, Il.
