After leading a wonderful life for 90 years, Ella Carlson of Jamestown, ND passed away early Saturday morning on February 15, 2014 to join her husband Wally, who passed in January 2007.
Ella was born on July 16, 1923 on the Kruger family farm north of Eldridge. She had to grow up fast, after losing her mother at an early age and helping care for her younger sister. She attended college in Valley City and taught school in Cuba, ND and at country schools near Windsor for several years.
Ella married Wally Carlson on January 12, 1946. They farmed together on the family farm north of Cleveland, where they raised three boys and two girls. They moved north of Windsor in 1971. Ella and Wally built a new home and retired in Jamestown in 1982.
Ella was an avid crossword player, read 2 newspapers a day and watched TV news. There are many people around the region, who found a check in their mailbox, after she learned of people in need. She also spent 20 years delivering meals to Seniors around Jamestown with her husband Wally. But most of all, Ella was loyal to her family and always there, when help was needed.
Ella is survived by three sons, Gary (Cathy) Carlson, Cleveland, ND, Neil (Beth) Carlson, Crookston, MN, Kevin (Debbie) Carlson, Buchanan, ND and two daughters, Pamela Williams, Eden Prairie, MN and Claudia (Bill) MacKenzie, Jamestown, ND, along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Kristi Weber, officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 16 at Eddy Funeral Home
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
