When she turned eighteen she left the home to meet the love of her life Gail Price. They were happily united in marriage in Atchison, KS on May 23rd 1978. Together they raised a family of six. All of her children survive and yet they are sad of the loss of their mother they are happy she is out of her pain and suffering. She has returned home to be with her loved ones and she was excited to see them.

Charlene was not only a very loving mother but as a career she was a loving nurse. Anyone who met Charlene could tell you she was a very caring person and would help anyone out that she could.

Charlene worked at Atchison Senior Village for eighteen years until she retired due to her husband having throat cancer so she could be his personal nurse and to take care of him. Unfortunately cancer took his life and after losing her husband she got cancer herself.

Charlene lived life to the fullest and was always a very positive person and touched many of peoples lives through her career. She always talked of her family and wasn't afraid of dying, she just didn't want to leave anyone behind especially her grandson Gail as anyone that knew her could tell you.

A Letter from Heaven

When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not here to see.
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart.
For everytime you think of me
I'm right there in your heart.
TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVED ME

When I am gone, release me. Let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave to you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near-
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile, and "Welcome Home".
