Linda Darlene Aaron LUBBOCK- Services for Linda Darlene Aaron, 71, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Sanders Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date in Rising Star, Texas. Linda's family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Linda passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 from a short illness. Linda was born Oct. 1, 1941 in Idalou, Texas to H.B. and Lillie Carter. She attended OL Slaton and Lubbock High School. She had a long career in accounting at South Plains Association of Government and Boldt Inc. She spent her last years working in the china department at Dillards before retiring in 2012. Linda raised five children on her own. 'Nuff said!! This speaks of her determination, love, patience, and sense of humor. The last thirteen years of her life were spent with the love of her life, Abner English. She was preceded in death by her son, Doug Aaron; and her parents. Loved ones include Abner; her daughters, Shelley and Jack Reed of Lake Brownwood, Texas, Kim and Talton Taylor of Canyon, Texas, Elizabeth and Roy Ward of Weatherford, Texas, and Janice Fox of Hobbs, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Cloanne Aaron of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Pallie English of Lubbock; two sisters, Sandra Copp and Patty Giesselman of Lubbock; three brothers, David and Phil Clark of Lubbock, and Steve Carter of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to a local Ronald McDonald House or the Alzheimer's Association .
