After leading a wonderful life for 82 years, Wallace Carlson of Jamestown, ND, went to his reward on the morning of January 26, 2007.

Wally was born on June 1, 1924 in Valley Springs Township, twelve miles north of Cleveland, ND. He was raised on the farm his parents, John and Gertie Carlson homesteaded. He graduated Jamestown High School in 1942.

Wally married Ella Kruger of Eldridge on January 12, 1946. They farmed together on the family farm, where they raised three boys and two girls. They moved north of Windsor in 1971.

Wally and Ella built a new home and retired in Jamestown in 1982. Wally loved his family, his friends, golf, hunting, shooting pool and gardening During his entire life, Wally was very involved in business, community and church organizations. He served forty years on the Board of Directors of the James River Valley Mutual Insurance Company; 16 years as an ASC committee member; President of the Men of Trinity Lutheran Church; President of the Windsor Elevator Board; President of the Heritage Center. He also served as a 4-H and Boy Scout leader for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Ella (Kruger) of 61 years. Three sons, Gary (Cathy) Carlson of Cleveland, Neil (Beth) Carlson of Crookston, MN, Kevin (Debbie) Carlson, Buchanan, ND, Two daughters, Pamela Williams, Ottertail, MN and Claudia (Bill) Mackenzie, Jamestown, along with eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and three sisters.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
