He is to be identified with Clarence Duke, shown on p. 493 of "English Ancestors". He is shown as Clarence Duke, age 12 in the 1900 census of Justice Precinct 1, Milam County, TX, living with his parents. Found in the 1930 census of Rosebud, Falls County, TX; he is 42, having been born in AL about 1888, married, with two children. At the time of his passing, he was living in Powers Chapel Community, Falls County, TX. His occupation was listed as produce buyer. Cause of death was tuberculosis. His Death Certificate is #46464 (found by Melissa Morris). Although no corroborating evidence has been found, it is believed that he was married to a lady whose first name was Sarah (born about 1889), and had two children, Marie (born about 1916) and Ruth (born about 1920).
