Ruth Hendrick Creasy, 75, of 1408 Lockwood Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 1901 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Vermon F. Creasy.
Born Oct. 17, 1915, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late John Robert and Dovie Reynolds Hendrick. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 42, a former member of Ivanhoe Garden Club, taught Sunday School for 40 yrs, a former Club Scout den mother and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Kenneth F. Creasy, and daughter-in-law, Glenda T. Creasy of Lynchburg; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Creasy Polly and son-in-law, Dr. Brownie F. Polly, Jr. of Big Stone Gap, and Mrs. Shirley Creasy Baber and son-in-law, Lyle C. Baber of Lynchburg, a brother, Carlton L. Hendrick, Lynchburg and a sister,Mrs. Christine Hendrick Monrote of Big Stone Gap, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funer service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas L. Joyce and the Rev. Barry G. Lawson. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
