Melba B. Kinghorn, 82, of Rigby, died Nov. 20, 1988 at the Golden Pines Shelter rest home in Rigby following a lingering illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1906, at Richmond, Utah, to John Monroe Bright and Amy Maria Johnson Bright. She was a homemaker and active member of the LDS Church, serving as organist in the Relief Society and Primary and for the Singing Mothers.

She married Delbert Kinghorn June 2, 1926, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, D. Nyle Kinghorn of Seattle, three daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Lois) Taylor and Mrs. Frank (Amy) Kraupp, both of Grant, and Mrs. Martel (Claris) Taylor of Rigby; a sister, Mrs. Murray (Delia) Harper of Twin Falls; 13 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, a granddaughter, and her parents.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Lewisville LDS 2nd Ward with Bishop S. Kay Foster officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Wednesday for one hour before services at the Lewisville church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery.
