Lemuel Williamson was born in what's now Tyler County West Virginia. He was the son of Peter Williamson and Delilah Sarah McVey. Lemuel traveled with his family from VA to Buchanan County MO as a child. After his sister Nancy Stout and her family left MO to homestead in Marshall County KS (Blue Rapids), he followed them. There he met and married a young widow Mary Johns Miller. Together they had 8 children all born in either Blue Rapids KS or St Joseph MO and most named after other family members.
