Actor. He was born Henry S. Garroway, in Grenada (British West Indies) and died in San Francisco (California). He debuted in Broadway in 1901, and entered to cinema in 1917, with the film "The Spreading Dawn." His presence was indispensable in a lot of classic films of 30s and 40s such as "A Bill of Divorcement" (1932), "Little Women" (1933), "Mutiny on the Bounty" (1933), "Captain Blood" (1935), "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1936), "The Charge of Light Brigade" (1936), "Suez" (1938), "Tarzan Finds a Son!"(1939), "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" (1939), "The Private Life of Elizabeth and Essex" (1939), "Mr. Lucky" (1943), "Night and Day" (1946), "Of Human Bondage" (1946) and "Oliver Twist" (1948). He was married with actress Ann Shoemaker until his death and was buried with her.
