Albert was eight years old when he left Canada to live with his new family in Nebraska. When he was eighteen his mother brought him back to Canada to visit relatives.

Here Albert met Mary Anthony and fell in love. She was the daughter of Catherine nee Baer and Joseph Anthony. Although Albert returned to the States he kept up a correspondence with Mary and eventually returned to Canada to marry her when he was twenty-three years old.

They were married in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Formosa on February 9, 1904. Albert brought the lovely Mary Anthony back to live at the farm in Scribner, Nebraska.

Mary and Albert raised a family of fourteen children, initially farming in Scribner, Nebraska, USA and moving to Fairview, Madison County, Nebraska before 1910, to Spencer, Boyd County, Nebraska in 1917, and to Oakdale, Antelope County, Nebraska in 1925, to San Francisco, San Francisco County before 1940, and finally to San Mateo, San Mateo County where he died in 1955 leaving a widow and 11 children.
