Rev Ard, the youngest of twelve, was born in the Simon Springs Community outside Crockett to Arthur and Marlissa Ard. He grew up in the Simon Springs Community and attended the Simons Springs School. He was baptized at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Simon Springs. On July 2, 1948 he married Madie G Marshall. They were the parents of 10 children. Rev Ard enrolled in barber college and was also employed by Quality Electric Steel for 20 years until his retirement
In 1959, he was called into the ministry and as a result pastored several Churches in the Settegaste Community in Houston. After returning home, he remained steadfast in is commitment to pastor at New Pleasant Hill Baptist in the Germany Community for 30 years, and Brewington Baptist Church in the Augusta Community for 35 years.
He enjoyed riding horses with his sons, family gatherings, and sharing family history. Along with serving the Lord, Rev Ard had a passion and love for serving others.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife & mother of his children, Madie Ard, ten siblings, one grandson, Darius. Former wives Aaron Perry Ard and Carriarean Hall Ard.
Services Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Union Prairie Baptist Church. Until the Rapture he shall rest in Union Prairie Cemetery.
